 "timeless" 2009-11-30
By P. Nicolella
This is the second one of these watches that my husband has owned. He has a very active job and wears this watch everyday. The first one was purchased in 1993 and was running fine when we decided to surprise him with a new one for his birthday. The old one had a scratched bezel and the numbers had worn off of the outer ring but the watch itself was in perfect running order.(it was 15 years old when we replaced it...)

This watch is not too bulky like some dive watches tend to be and the face is highly readable with just a quick glance. There are several new watches out there that resemble this one but for the price and the "feel" of this watch, you just can't beat it.

 "A Great Watch" 2009-10-19
By Diane Girl (New York)
This is a very comfortable watch-not too big-not too heavy. The face shines in the dark- a convenient feature. I bought it for my husband specifically for the beach and going into the water but now he wears it all the time. It is functioning perfectly. The band is very comfortable but tends to overlap too much on the wrist and gets caught on city clothing. Citizen could have made a shorter band. For quality and price you can't beat this watch. My husband is completely satisfied and loves it.

 "Nice little diver watch." 2009-09-12
By dogboy (Drayden, MD United States)
The AJ0100 is a great little watch. Emphasis on little. I've gotten used to G-Shock size watches. This one is quite a bit smaller. It mics at 38mm wide, without crown. 40mm wide with crown. Bezel dia. is 36mm, crystal is 28mm across. About 10.5mm thick. Lug width is 20mm.

It is so light you forget it is there. Seems to easily attain the +/- 15 seconds / month of accuracy that I think is specified. Second hand hits the index markers quite well, which is fairly common for a Citizen watch. Overall an excellent watch. If it were just a little larger, it would have gotten 5 starts.

I took the synthetic strap off immediately and put it on a Zulu, and never looked back. I highly recommend this watch if you are in the market for a quartz watch, highly water resistant, and small.

"Not so good for diving. =(" 2009-08-12
By M. Ludovico
I bought this watch to wear when I went diving. Playing in the pool, the watch was fine; however when I went diving couple weeks ago between 50 - 60 feet, it clearly was not that water resistent ... even though it claims to work up to 200 meter. I'm disappointed to say the least. So if you want a watch just to look good, fine; but if you need it for the main purpose of diving, don't waste your money.

"Great watch but some issues" 2009-01-22
By Handyguy (Livermore, CA)
This watch had been in my cart for about six months as I was waiting for a promotion or sale that would offer a lower price. Wow, the price jumped from $129.00 to $150.00 for no clear reason. In addition Amazon said shipping could be delayed for up to eight weeks! Talk about sticker price shock. The issue now is that the next model up eco-drive model good to 300 meters depth for $165.00 looks like a steal. The decision is a personal one and I went with the Promaster 200 simply for its rugged good looks and high customer ratings. The watch rubber strap is robust but comfortable and will accomodate a large wrist. The five year warranty is a plus, the second hand actually lands on each tick mark with perfect alignment. This particular model seems to have been around for many years with virtually no changes which is a plus in my opion. I agree that some dive watches take on a cartoon appearance by being overly large. One surprise is that the watch is advertised by Citizen as being brushed stainless steel which suggests a matt finish. Be warned that the watch is highly polished and shiny like a chrome plated braclet. I can live with that but I was hoping for the matt finish common to military and sport watches. I am still pleased with the watch because of its proven accuracy, quality and functional simplicity. I actually purchased the watch from another online vendor to get immediate delivery but I now see that Amazon has stock available now rather than the idicated eight weeks. Bottom line: a great watch but for a few dollars more you can move up to the eco-drive model which eliminates the issue of battery replacement.

Update 2/5/09: Don't worry about the issue of luminescence of the dial markers, they are quite bright at night and stay bright through the night. I realize now that it was the Citizen watch company not Amazon that jacked the msrp up to $250 which forced Amazon to raise their already discounted price as did every other online company did. In hindsight I suspect the quality of the Promaster 200 and the associated costs of producing it have risen and it speaks well for the watch that is still popular and in demand even at the higher price. Yes I love this watch.
